Intellectual Property Facilitation Centres (IPFCs) are specialized support hubs established across India to assist micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), startups, and individual innovators in navigating the IP ecosystem. These centres provide a wide range of services, including guidance on patent, trademark, copyright and design registration, prior-art searches, IP management strategies, commercialization support, and awareness programs. IPFCs aim to strengthen the innovation capabilities of MSMEs by helping them protect and leverage their intellectual property assets effectively. They also offer subsidized assistance under government schemes to make IP services more accessible and affordable.

Patent Information Centres (PICs) are state-level facilitation units established to promote awareness, accessibility, and effective utilization of the patent system among researchers, academic institutions, government organizations, and individual innovators. Set up under the Patent Facilitation Programme of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), PICs provide essential services such as guidance on patent search and documentation, assistance in filing patent applications, training programs on intellectual property rights, and support in identifying patentable inventions. By acting as a bridge between innovators and the national patent system, PICs play a crucial role in strengthening grassroots innovation and enabling informed IP protection across India.
